Leu Botanical Gardens in Orlando, Florida.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The Regional Envirothon is a problem solving, natural resource education program for high school students. It is a unique outdoor competition that requires teamwork and the application of knowledge in the five areas listed below:&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Aquatics&lt;/strong&gt; - water ecology, water chemistry, water quality, and aquatic life.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Current Environmental Issues &lt;/strong&gt;- annually selected topics such as energy sources, groundwater, Gulf of  Mexico environmental concerns or other current issues.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Forestry &lt;/strong&gt;- tree identification, tree ecology, insects, and timber.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Soils &lt;/strong&gt;- classification, formation, soil properties, profiles, and sites suitability.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Wildlife&lt;/strong&gt;- habit, identification, food, disease, and management.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;This year the first and second place teams were both from Seminole. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_asmWrP0DXXk/RciRCE40vNI/AAAAAAAAAAc/C3kq2XLnho8/s1600-h/2007_Envirothon_winners.jpg"&gt;&lt;img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_asmWrP0DXXk/RciRCE40vNI/AAAAAAAAAAc/C3kq2XLnho8/s320/2007_Envirothon_winners.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5028428448817003730" /&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The 1st place team was the &amp;quot;Hsu-Ins&amp;quot;(shoe-ins) from Winter Springs  Pictured here with the winning team is Supervisor Mike Barr who represented the Board at the Awards Ceremony.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_asmWrP0DXXk/RciQOE40vMI/AAAAAAAAAAU/BcatsJsdplU/s1600-h/2nd_Place_winners.jpg"&gt;&lt;img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_asmWrP0DXXk/RciQOE40vMI/AAAAAAAAAAU/BcatsJsdplU/s320/2nd_Place_winners.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5028427555463806146" /&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The 2nd place team was the Seminole 4H Team &amp;quot;The Branch Protection Agency&amp;quot;.
